I used the export ‘json file’ and now it opens my Download folder 4-6 times an hour. How do I stop this?

Thanks for flagging this, and sorry it’s been a pain. I looked into it, and I’m fairly sure the export isn’t what’s doing this, even though the timing makes it look that way.
Here’s what the export does. When you click the JSON button, Toby builds the file and hands it to the browser as one download. That’s it. Nothing runs afterwards, there’s no schedule, and Toby doesn’t have permission to open your Downloads folder or start downloads on its own. Chrome only lets extensions do that if they ask for the “downloads” permission, and Toby never asks for it.
So something else is opening that folder, and it probably started around the same time as your export. A few things would help me find it:
My guess is a web app in another tab that re-downloads something every 10 or 15 minutes, or a program on your computer that opens the folder whenever a download finishes. Tell me what you see and I can point you at the fix. If it’s easier, email support@gettoby.com with a screenshot of what pops up.
I sent you a screen grab of the recurring opening of my download folder with the JSON file. Why have I not heard back from you on how to fix this?

Hi Bumpfus, I can’t seem to find your query in our support channel. Can you let me know where you sent it so i can follow up? Thank you!
I have replied 3-4 times and included attachments that show that each time it opens Download folder it is the next backup with a number. All are in numeric order. All are JSON Files.
I took my computer to my local shop and he kept it over the weekend. I went to pick it up yesterday and after $58.00 was told there was nothing he could do. He told me to tell you who ever coded your app will have to do away the remedy or tell me how to stop this from happening.
I really don’t know why you have not been in touch with me after I sent the evidence you asked for.
All were sent to support@gettoby.com If you look at these individual screen shots you’ll see that each is a different file number.
So………………………………………I bought this and now I have a file in your app that opens the Download folder 4 times an hour…..no matter what else I’m doing. I have been editing photos in Photoshop and this Download folder opens and crashes Photoshop. The same happens no matter what I’m doing……reading email, editing video, And it seems you don’t care because you don’t even respond to my emails.
I guess I’m asking …”what do we do about this?” My computer Guru tells me the coder will have to figure out how to stop this.
Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you I did turn Toby off for a day and there was no opening of the Download folder

Hi Bumpfus, I am looking into this for you. Kindly give me some time to investigate.
In the meantime, can you please let me know which email address are you contacting us from? I wasn’t able to find any queries coming from you. You can reach out to us through our support form here: https://help.gettoby.com/support/tickets/new?ticket_form=report_an_issue

Hi Bumpfus, I’m really sorry for the trouble, and for your emails going unanswered. They never reached our support inbox, and I’m looking into why.
Your screenshots solved it. The files are named “tms-session…” inside a “tms-backups” folder. Those come from another extension you have installed, called The Marvellous Suspender. It has an automatic backup that saves your tabs to the Downloads folder every hour. Your browser is set to ask where to save every download, so each backup opens that Save As window.
To stop it:
If you don’t use The Marvellous Suspender, you can click “Remove” on it in step 2 instead.
You don’t need to change anything in Toby. If the window still pops up after this, reply here and I’ll stay on it with you until it’s fixed.

I want to apologize before thanking you for your assistance. It was driving me crazy andI’m so glad you found the answer.
I also want to thank you for this awesome app. I has saved me numerous times.
Thanks again and y’all have a blessed day.
